How to Access Products
Navigate to the Products section from your main ellocharlie navigation menu.
You'll land on the Products listing page, which displays:
Stats cards (if enabled) showing high-level metrics across your product workflow
View toggle to switch between kanban and table views
Optional filters to narrow down the products you're viewing
Why Use Products
Visual Workflow Management
The kanban board displays your products organized by stage (such as "prospect," "negotiation," or "closed"). This visual layout makes it easy to see at a glance where each product stands in your process and identify bottlenecks.
Flexible Organization
Drag and drop products between stages or reorder them within a stage to reflect real-world progress. Changes are immediately reflected and persisted to your system.
Multiple Views for Different Tasks
Kanban view is ideal for quick visual scanning, bulk stage transitions, and understanding workflow flow.
Table view is better for detailed data review, sorting, filtering, and making inline edits to multiple fields at once.
Customizable Display
Show or hide statistics cards and choose which columns appear in the table view to focus on the information that matters most to your team.
Real-Time Collaboration
All edits and drag operations are synchronized across your team, so everyone sees the current state of your product workflow.
How to Use Products
Switching Between Views
Kanban View (Default)
Click the kanban toggle on the listing page to display products as cards organized by stage.
This view is optimized for visual workflow management and drag-and-drop operations.
Products are displayed as draggable cards within columns representing each stage.
Table View
Click the table toggle to switch to a data grid layout.
This view displays products as rows with customizable columns, sortable headers, and inline editing capabilities.
The table supports pagination, row selection via checkboxes, and column visibility settings.
Working with the Kanban Board
Dragging Products Between Stages
Open the kanban view.
Click and hold a product card.
Drag it to the target stage.
Release to drop it. The product's stage is updated immediately and saved.

Working with the Table View
Viewing and Sorting Data
Open the table view.
Click any column header to sort by that column (ascending or descending).
Use optional filters above the table to narrow results.
Inline Editing
Click on any editable cell in the table.
The cell enters edit mode. The editor type depends on the field — text input, dropdown select, date picker, tag input, or typeahead suggestions.
Make your change and press Enter or click outside the cell to save.
The change is persisted immediately to the backend.
Managing Columns
Look for a column visibility button (often a settings or eye icon) in the table header.
Toggle columns on or off to customize your view.
Reorder columns by dragging them horizontally.
Your preferences are saved automatically and restored on your next visit.
Viewing Statistics
If stats cards are visible at the top of the listing page, they display aggregate metrics (e.g., total product count, distribution by stage).
To hide or show stats cards, click the visibility toggle (often a button labeled "Show Stats" or similar).
Your preference is remembered for future visits and stored in your browser.
Using Filters
Look for filter controls above the kanban board or table.
Select filter criteria (e.g., stage, date range, custom properties) to narrow the displayed products.
Filters apply instantly to both kanban and table views.
Clear filters to see all products again.
FAQ & Best Practices
Q: What happens when I drag a product between stages?
A: The product's stage is updated immediately and saved to your system. All team members see the change in real time. No additional confirmation is needed.
Q: Can I undo a drag operation?
A: Once you drop a product, the change is saved. If you need to revert it, drag the product back to its previous stage or use your browser's undo function (Ctrl+Z or Cmd+Z) immediately after the drag.
Q: How do I edit multiple fields on a product at once?
A: Switch to table view and use inline editing. Click any cell to edit it directly without opening a detail panel. This is faster than opening and closing detail panels for multiple products.
Q: Can I customize which columns appear in the table view?
A: Yes. Use the column visibility button in the table header to toggle columns on or off. You can also reorder columns by dragging them horizontally. Your preferences are saved automatically.
Q: How do I see high-level metrics for my product workflow?
A: Stats cards at the top of the listing page show aggregate data like total product count and distribution across stages. If they're hidden, click the visibility toggle to show them again.
Q: What's the best way to organize a large number of products?
A: Use a combination of filters and views:
Use filters to focus on a subset (e.g., products in a specific stage or with certain properties).
Switch between kanban and table views depending on your task — kanban for workflow visualization, table for detailed review.
Sort the table by relevant columns (e.g., date, priority) to surface the most important products.
Q: Can I see what changes my team has made?
A: The Products feature shows you the current state of all products in real time. For detailed change history, check your product's detail panel or activity log (if available in your ellocharlie instance).
Q: Are my view preferences (kanban vs. table, visible columns, stats visibility) saved?
A: Yes. Your preferences for column visibility, kanban board settings, and stats visibility are automatically saved to your browser and restored when you return to the Products section.
Q: What data do I need to provide for products to appear in the Products feature?
A: Each product must have at least an ID and a stage ID so the system knows which stage to display it in. Additional fields (name, description, custom properties, etc.) are optional and can be displayed in the kanban card or table columns based on your configuration.
Q: Can I customize how product cards look on the kanban board?
A: Card rendering is managed by your ellocharlie administrator or through your product configuration. If you'd like to change card layouts, contact your admin to discuss customization options.
